How does Jennessey Business Advisors determine market price for a business?Jennessey Business Advisors performs a comprehensive evaluation of the business. The foundation of our evaluation is financial data relevant to your specific industry. The data includes key ratios based upon the financial performance of your company. After obtaining an understanding of the general market for companies within your industry, we then incorporate the unique characteristics of the company to estimate a price that an independent third party would be willing to pay for the company, and based upon its financial performance. As a final step, we compare 1.) the price that a buyer would be willing to pay based on financial performance of the company to 2.) the amount of money the company would receive if it liquidated its assets. The greater of the two values is selected. If the decision is that it is not quite time to sell, we will work with you over time, updating the evaluation annually, until you are ready.
